Company fledgling in 2004, founder Katherine Hudson scoured the South of England searching for a fun and invigorating party tent. Finding nothing but white PVC marquees, Katherine then realised she would have to try a little harder if she wanted to do something truly special. Now determined to find the perfect party marquee, and safe in the knowledge that a gap in the UK market found, Katherine set off on her quest to Morocco to talk to a man about a tent…
The Moroccan tent Katherine first bought – and infamously drove back to the UK strapped to the roof of her army truck – was just the beginnings of what would eventually grow into the wondrous interiors, decorations and props of The Arabian Tent company, and eventually, The Complete Chillout Company. Word soon spread throughout the party world and people all over the UK started to book the marquee for all sorts of festivals, parties and events.

The more tented parties Katherine put on, the more her inspiration grew. Soon she had ideas that she wanted to create and decided to design her own marquee linings, collecting cushions and furniture, ornaments and feathers, candles and lanterns to adorn the interiors. When requests started coming in asking to
use these individual items separately from the tents, The Complete Chillout Company was born and the team started practising using all the draping skills and techniques usually used inside the Arabian Tents to transform barns, venues, village halls and even warehouses. Now with the largest collection of unique marquees in the UK,
a wonderful team of creative and skilled marquee crew, drapers and event specialists and a whole lot of passion and attention to detail, The House of Hud is proud to have supplied magical marquees, cosy furniture and interesting props and furnishings to some of the UK’s most spectacular parties for over an entire decade.
